On Love
Love was Maharaj-ji’s first and final teaching. To sit near him was to feel seen by an immeasurable, motherly heart that made no distinctions between sinner and saint. When we practice even a drop of this love — turning judgment into gentleness, fear into openness — we begin to taste the world as he saw it.

On Service
In Maharaj-ji’s ashrams, seva was everywhere: peeling potatoes, sweeping floors, comforting strangers. He showed that when we quietly do what is needed for another’s well-being, the ego grows thin and God shines through the smallest act. Each plate of prasad, each cup of chai offered becomes worship.
“Serve everyone, feed people, feed God.”

On Remembrance
Around Maharaj-ji, the divine name was like breath — always rising and falling in the background. He taught that in joy or crisis, in crowded trains or in the quiet of night, turning the mind again and again to Ram is the surest boat across this ocean of life. Even a restless repetition, offered sincerely, begins to steady the heart.

On Truth
Maharaj-ji’s truth was utterly uncomplicated: do not lie, do not cheat, do not hurt, remember God. His presence made it painful to hide behind half-truths, yet he exposed our pretenses only to lead us closer to what is real. When we practice simple honesty in speech and action, the mind becomes clearer and God’s will is easier to feel.

On Surrender
Again and again Maharaj-ji dissolved the illusion that we are in control. He would laugh at our plans and anxieties, pointing instead to the One who is doing everything. To whisper “Sub ek hain, all is One” in the middle of our struggles is to lay them at God’s feet and trust that even our helplessness belongs to Him.

On Grace
So many who met Maharaj-ji felt the same astonishment: “Why me? I have done nothing to deserve this love.” He showed that grace does not calculate merit; it breaks in exactly where we are weakest and most unprepared. Remembering this, we can relax our self-judgment and allow his unseen hand to guide even our mistakes back toward God.
